TAYLOR CIAMPI, a Baltimore, Maryland native, embarked on her pre-professional journey at The Rock School in Philadelphia, guided by the esteemed Bo and Stephanie Spassoff. Her dedication and talent were evident as she competed in the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP), triumphing in numerous Regional Semifinals. In 2015, she was honored with the Grand Prix Award in Austin, Texas, and secured a place in the Top 12 at the Lincoln Center Finals. Her achievements led her to be one of six American women selected to compete at the prestigious Prix de Lausanne in Lausanne, Switzerland. The 2015-2016 school year saw Taylor honing her skills under the direction of Jean-Yves Esquerre at the Dutch National Ballet Academy in Amsterdam. Her professional career took flight in 2016 as an apprentice with the National Ballet of Canada. She furthered her journey, becoming a member of Atlanta Ballet 2 in 2017 and was promoted to the Atlanta Ballet company in 2018. Her time with Atlanta Ballet was marked by the privilege of participating in the Jacob's Pillow Ballet Program.
Since joining First State Ballet Theatre in 2021, Taylor has performed a diverse range of distinguished roles, including Myrtha in Giselle, Gamzatti in La Bayadère, and Lilac Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty. Additionally, she has performed the roles of Flower Princess in The Nutcracker, Mercedes in Don Quixote, Big Swan in Swan Lake, and the Pas de Deux from Diana and Acteon. Taylor was a featured artist in Maeghan McHale's Revolving Doors, and she has showcased her talent in Viktor Plotnikov’s Fantasy to Dvořák, Unwound, Wings, and an excerpt from Everlasting Arms.
Taylor’s involvement with FSBT goes beyond dancing. She teaches at The School of First State Ballet Theatre and is the Director of the National Ballet Competition. Ms. Ciampi is looking forward to her fourth season with First State Ballet Theatre.
