Aynsley Inglis
Director, The School of FSBT at Whitehall

AYNSLEY INGLIS is a native Delawarean, original company member of First State Ballet Theatre, and an alum of The School of FSBT.  She graduated from Ursuline Academy in Wilmington and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware. 

As a professional ballerina, Aynsley danced with First State Ballet Theatre, performing roles such as Kitri, Aurora and Carmen, and premiering the role of Eve in Viktor Plotnikov’s Everlasting Arms. In 2010, Anysley was selected to compete in the USA International Ballet Competition in Jackson, MS, which is regarded as the “olympics of ballet.” Aynsley was the first Delawarean ever selected for this prestigious competition, and she was entered into the Library of Congress. As a dancer with Universal Ballet Company in Seoul, Korea, she toured the world and performed in ballets such as La Bayadère, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Onegin, Romeo and Juliet, Senches Tanze, Minus 7, Shim Chung, and Giselle.  She’s performed across the United States with Ballet Fleming, Tulsa Ballet, Christopher Caines Dance Company, Metropolitan Ballet, and Bay Area Houston Ballet.

Aynsley has over 20 years of experience teaching across all levels and ages. Her students have been accepted to prestigious ballet institutions around the world including American Ballet Theatre’s NYC Summer Intensive, Julliard, Ballet Austin, Idyllwild Performing Arts, Tulsa Ballet School, Boston Ballet School, School of American Ballet, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, School of Philadelphia Ballet, The Rock School, Bolshoi Academy International in Switzerland, Nacho Duaro in Madrid, Joffrey Ballet School, and The School of FSBT.

Aynsley received her ballet training at The School of FSBT and the Kirov Academy. She attended summer intensives at American Ballet Theatre in New York City and the Kirov Academy in Washington, DC.  She received additional training from Pasha and Kristina Kambalov, Valentina Kozlova, Elena Kounikova and Evgeni Neff. In 2006 she won first place in Youth America Grand Prix’s Philadelphia Regional Senior Division in both classical and contemporary categories.  

In 2013, Aynsley was recognized for her achievements in the arts by the State of Delaware with the Governor’s Award. She is also a proud recipient of the Wilmington Award for the Arts.   

In her personal life, Aynsley enjoys spending time with husband and pets, gardening, baking, and watching the Phillies. She speaks Russian, Korean, Mandarin, French, Spanish, and some Italian.
