Angela Zielen, a Delaware native, began studying ballet at the age of nine at First State Academy of Dance in Milford. She attended summer intensives at First State Ballet Theatre and the American Academy of Ballet, and studied under Angela DeMello in Urbania, Italy for a summer. Angela was awarded the Delaware Dance Festival Artistry Award in 2012 and was invited to take the YAGP Finals Master Class in 2015. This is Angela’s sixth season with the company, where she has performed both corps and soloist roles in The Nutcracker, Paquita, Don Quixoteand danced Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty. Angela is a graduate from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Cognitive Science and she also serves as the Assistant Director of the National Ballet Competition. Angela is grateful that in her free time she gets to travel, take photos, read, and spend time with her friends and family that support her.
