Andrew Matte,a New Hampshire native, began his training at Londonderry Dance Academy with Barbara Mullen. He holds a bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the University of Hartford, where he continued his training under Samantha Dunster and guests Angel Corella and Xiomara Reyes. This is Andrew’s fifth season with First State Ballet Theatre where he has performed roles such as Rothbart in Swan Lake, Bacchus in Walpurgisnacht, Hilarion in Giselle, and Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet. As a choreographer, he got his start here at First State Ballet Theatre creating works on the company like Bolero, Parentheses, and Quelquefois. Andrew has also had the opportunity to choreograph on Washington College, The First State Ballet Theatre summer intensive, Londonderry Dance Academy, and for students entering competitions such as Youth American Grand Prix, National Ballet Competition, and World Ballet Competition.
